In short

What are the alternatives to Toku?

The realistic alternatives to Toku are the other cap table platforms in the same market — Carta, Pulley, Ledgy, AngelList, Fidelity Private Shares, Eqvista, Cake Equity, Vestd, Astrella and Qapita — plus Toku for token compensation. Glide Equity, shipped in August 2026, is now also in that set, and is by some distance the least proven option in it.

What Toku is

Toku provides token-based compensation and payroll for companies that have issued or will issue a token: token grant administration, vesting and distribution, employment and tax compliance across many jurisdictions, and stablecoin payroll. It is the mature option for the specific problem of paying people in tokens without creating a compliance mess.

What Toku is genuinely good at

  • Token grant administration and vesting handled as a service, with the tax and employment compliance attached — the part that is genuinely hard
  • Multi-jurisdiction coverage for token and stablecoin payroll
  • Works with institutional custody and multisig for distributions rather than assuming a hot wallet
  • It covers the token side outright. Glide does not touch it

Who Toku is for

  • Companies with a live token that grant tokens to employees or contributors
  • Protocols and foundations that need token vesting administered rather than tracked in a spreadsheet
  • Teams whose binding constraint is tax and employment compliance across jurisdictions, not software

Choose Toku over Glide if

  • You are granting tokens to employees today and need it done compliantly
  • The hard part of your problem is withholding and reporting, not the ledger
  • You already run equity somewhere else and only need the token side solved

Trade-offs worth checking yourself

These are trade-offs, not defects, and scope in this market changes. Confirm anything that would change your decision directly with Toku.

  • Token-first by design — it expects your equity cap table to live in another product, so you keep two registers
  • It is a compliance and payroll service more than a self-serve cap table tool; that is the point, but it shapes the buying process
  • If you have no token, most of the value does not apply to you

What Glide does today

Glide is a stablecoin business account that added a cap table, Glide Equity, in August 2026. It covers the register and the workflow around it; it does not cover valuations, fund administration, national plan types or tokens, and it is the newest product in this comparison by a wide margin.

  • Glide Equity: an equity cap table of record — shares, options, RSUs, SAFEs and convertible notes — shipped August 2026
  • Stablecoin treasury and multi-rail payouts from the same balance you pay people out of
  • On-chain multisig vaults (Safe, Squads) with M-of-N approvals over the treasury
  • Cards, payroll and contractor payments today
  • Free token vesting and unlock calculators

Frequently asked questions

Is Toku a cap table platform?
Not in the equity sense. Toku administers token compensation and the compliance attached to it, and expects your equity cap table to live in a separate product. Glide Equity can be that separate product, but it does not merge the two into one register — it holds equity only.
Can Glide handle my token grants instead of Toku?
No. Glide Equity holds equity securities — shares, options, RSUs, SAFEs and convertible notes. There is no token register in it, and none of the withholding or reporting work that makes token compensation hard. If you are granting tokens to people now, the compliance exposure is now, and Toku is the product built for it.
What is a token cap table?
A register of who holds or is owed tokens — team allocations, investor allocations, unlock schedules and cliffs — kept the way a share register is kept. Most token-issuing companies still keep it in a spreadsheet next to their equity cap table.
