Security Service FCU routing number

Security Service publishes a single routing number, 314088637, and asks for it on direct deposits, bill payments, ACH transfers and wires alike. There is no separate wire number and no state-specific variant. What does change is the process — and, for money coming from overseas, whether it can arrive at all.

What is Security Service Federal Credit Union’s routing number?

314088637. It is the only ABA routing number the Federal Reserve ACH directory carries for Security Service Federal Credit Union, and the credit union prints it in the header of every page of its site.

It lists that one number for electronic funds transfers, direct deposits, bill payments and wires, across all 70 of its locations in Texas, Colorado and Utah — no state-specific variant, no separate wire number.

Using 314088637 for direct deposit and ACH

For direct deposit or an electronic transfer, use routing number 314088637 and the account number requested for the destination account. Confirm both in Security Service’s authenticated account records before submitting them.

On timing the credit union is blunt. Its funds availability policy, effective 26 January 2026, says electronic direct deposits “will be available on the day we receive the deposit” — the day the ACH credit reaches Security Service, not the day the payer released the file.

  • Deposit missing? If it arrives at least once every 60 days from the same payer, you can call 1-800-527-7328 to check whether it has been made.
  • Need an ACH debit stopped? The request must arrive three business days or more before the payment is due, and a phone request may have to be confirmed in writing within 14 days.

Wires use the same number, not the same process

Same number, different counter. Wire requests “cannot be made via Security Service Online Banking or on our website”: you start one at a branch — unless it is $2,500.00 or less and goes to your own account elsewhere, which may be accepted by phone on (866) 557-1312, or by emailing a signed authorization to DL_Bankwire@ssfcu.org.

Wires are not processed at weekends or on federal holidays. The domestic fee is waived on the Power Protected Checking account, as published in the fee schedule effective 26 January 2026. Schedules change — check the current one.

Security Service has no SWIFT code — send this instead

It asks for a correspondent instead: members “should instruct the sending financial institution to use a corresponding bank to facilitate the transfer”. The overseas bank sends dollars to a US correspondent, which passes them to 314088637. Ask Security Service which one rather than guessing.

  • Your name exactly as the account is titled; a different beneficiary name is returned to the originator.
  • The account number to be credited; an incorrect one is returned.
  • Routing number 314088637, in US dollars.

A correspondent path may involve charges or currency conversion outside Security Service’s published incoming-wire fee. Ask the sending institution for its rate, fees and expected delivered amount before authorizing the transfer.

What happens if the routing or account number is wrong

Read the digits back before you submit, because the agreement says the number wins. Security Service’s consumer account terms, effective 26 January 2026, provide that where you give both a name and a number, it and every receiving institution “may rely on the identifying number to make payment… even if it identifies a financial institution, person or account other than the one named.”

The agreement says ACH payments are provisional “until final settlement is made through a Federal Reserve Bank”. Do not treat provisional posting as proof that final settlement has occurred.

  1. 01Report a payment that has already posted no later than 60 days after the first statement showing it.
  2. 02It then has 10 business days to decide — 20 on a new account — or up to 45 if it needs longer, and 90 for a new account, a point-of-sale or a foreign-initiated transfer.
  3. 03For a missing or disputed transfer, contact Security Service with the transaction details it requests for its error-resolution process.

Frequently asked questions

What is the routing number for Security Service Federal Credit Union?

314088637. Security Service publishes it on its own routing number page and prints it in the header of every page of its website, and it is the only routing number the Federal Reserve ACH directory carries for the credit union. The same number is used for electronic funds transfers, direct deposits, electronic bill payments and wire transfers.

Does Security Service have a different routing number for wire transfers?

No. The credit union’s instructions for receiving a wire ask the originator for your name as the account is titled, the account number to be credited, and “SSFCU’s routing number - 314088637” — the same number used for ACH and direct deposit. What differs is the process, not the number: wires must be started at a branch, or by phone for amounts of $2,500.00 or less to your own account elsewhere.

Is the Security Service routing number different in Colorado or Utah?

No. Security Service runs 70 locations across Texas, Colorado and Utah on the single routing number 314088637. There is no state-specific or branch-specific variant, so a member in Colorado or Utah gives a payer exactly the same number as a member in San Antonio.

What is Security Service Federal Credit Union’s SWIFT code?

It does not have one. The credit union states on its own money-transfer page that “SSFCU is not part of the SWIFT network and we can only receive funds in US currency.” For a payment from abroad, it asks members to instruct the sending bank to use a corresponding bank to facilitate the transfer, which then routes US dollars to 314088637. Ask Security Service for those correspondent details rather than assuming them.

How much does Security Service charge for a wire transfer?

As published in its Fee Schedule for Consumer Accounts effective 26 January 2026, an outgoing domestic wire is $15.00 and an outgoing international wire is $61.00, with the domestic fee waived on the Power Protected Checking account. Receiving a wire is free according to the current Send Money page. Confirm the current schedule before sending.

What time is the wire cut-off at Security Service?

Domestic wire requests must be received by 2:30 PM CST for same-day processing; later requests go out the next business day. International requests in US dollars are accepted Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM CST, with a 1:30 PM CST cut-off for same-day processing, and requests converting US dollars to a foreign currency are only accepted between 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM CST. Wires are not processed at weekends or on federal holidays.

When will a direct deposit reach my Security Service account?

Security Service’s funds availability policy, effective 26 January 2026, states that electronic direct deposits “will be available on the day we receive the deposit”. That is the day the credit union receives the ACH credit, which need not be the day the payer says it sent the file. If a deposit that arrives at least once every 60 days from the same payer has not shown up, the credit union says you can call 1-800-527-7328 to find out whether it has been made.

How do I stop an ACH payment coming out of my Security Service account?

Contact the credit union in time for the request to be received three business days or more before the payment is scheduled. A phone request may have to be confirmed in writing within 14 days. The general stop-payment fee is $25.00 in the schedule effective 26 January 2026. If the payment has posted, report an error no later than 60 days after the first statement on which it appeared.
