The Golden 1 Credit Union routing number

Golden 1 publishes two routing numbers, and picking the wrong one is the whole problem: 321175261 covers personal and sole proprietorship accounts, while Business Services accounts use 121182852. The credit union warns that some institutions do not even recognize the business number.

What is the Golden 1 Credit Union routing number?

Which Golden 1 account number goes on the form

The routing number is the easy half. For a checking direct deposit Golden 1 asks for the Book Number — its own words — the middle ten-digit figure at the bottom of a Golden 1 check, after the routing number.

  1. From a paper check

Ten digits in the middle of the bottom line, after 321175261.

  2. From the G1 app or online banking

Open the account, tap Account Information, then the eye icon beside Account number.

  3. From a monthly statement

The checking account number is the Book No.; savings sits in the top corner of page one.

What Golden 1 charges for ACH transfers

Nothing, on the ACH side. Golden 1’s Electronic Fund Transfers disclosure puts it flatly: it does not charge for direct deposits to any type of account, and does not charge for preauthorized payments from any type of account. The fees that exist sit around the edges.

Sending a wire to a Golden 1 account

Same number. Golden 1’s wire instructions give the ABA as 321175261 for personal and sole proprietorship accounts, addressed to Golden 1 Credit Union, 8945 Cal Center Drive, Sacramento, CA 95826 — the same street address the Federal Reserve’s ACH file carries. Incoming wires post through the day, Monday to Friday, in US dollars only.

  • From overseas: Golden 1 has no IBAN. Its BIC is GCUNUS62 for personal and sole proprietorship accounts, GCUNUS6201 for Business Services.
  • Incoming wires are free. Outgoing costs $25.00 domestic and $40.00 international, and Golden 1 says correspondent or receiving foreign banks may add charges it cannot predetermine.
  • Outgoing wires must be started in person at a branch, by 1 p.m. Monday to Friday to leave the same day. Business members approved for Wire Origination use Business Online Banking.

Golden 1 also warns an international wire can take up to fifteen days to post, with a tracer available after ten business days; a domestic tracer is available after two. Confirm any currency-conversion rate, fees and expected delivered amount with the sending institution before authorizing the transfer.

When the money lands, and how to stop an ACH payment

Golden 1’s general policy is to make cash, check and electronic direct deposits available on the same Business Day it receives them, while reserving the right to delay by up to two Business Days. A Business Day is Monday to Friday, excluding federal holidays. Golden 1 does not publish an ACH receipt cut-off in the sources checked.

To stop a recurring ACH debit, Golden 1 must have your oral or written request at least three Business Days before the payment is due. A stop can run up to thirteen months, and Golden 1 may require written confirmation within fourteen calendar days to keep an oral one alive. If Golden 1 fails to stop the payment after receiving a timely order, it says it is liable for reasonable losses connected to that failure.

What happens when the routing or account number is wrong

Worth reading twice before a payroll switch. Golden 1’s membership agreement says that if a transfer identifies the recipient or the institution inconsistently by name and account number, it may rely on the account number even if that number identifies a different party. The name does not rescue a wrong number.

ACH credits are provisional until final settlement, too: if Golden 1 is not paid, you agree to refund what was credited. For an error already on a statement the window is sixty days from the first statement showing it; Golden 1 then has ten Business Days to decide, or up to forty-five to investigate with a provisional credit.

Frequently asked questions

What is the routing number for Golden 1 Credit Union?

It is 321175261. Golden 1 publishes that number for both personal banking and sole proprietorship accounts, and uses it for direct deposit, ACH payments and incoming wires alike. Business Services accounts use a separate routing number, 121182852.

Is the Golden 1 routing number the same for wires and direct deposit?

Yes, for personal and sole proprietorship accounts. Golden 1’s incoming wire instructions give the ABA number as 321175261 — the same number printed on your checks and used for direct deposit. The wire also needs the institutional details Golden 1 publishes: Golden 1 Credit Union, 8945 Cal Center Drive, Sacramento, CA 95826, plus the member’s name and account number.

Does Golden 1 Credit Union have a SWIFT code or an IBAN?

Golden 1 has a BIC but no IBAN — it states plainly that it does not have one. The BIC is GCUNUS62 for personal banking and sole proprietorship accounts, and GCUNUS6201 for Business Services accounts. An overseas sender needs the BIC plus routing number 321175261; incoming wires are received in US dollars only.

What account number do I give my employer for a Golden 1 direct deposit?

For checking, Golden 1’s own answer is the Book Number — the middle ten-digit number at the bottom of your check, after the routing number. You can also read it in the G1 app by opening the account, tapping Account Information and revealing the account number. If the deposit is going to savings, Golden 1 says that number carries an “=X” suffix and asks you not to include it.

Does Golden 1 charge for direct deposit or ACH transfers?

No. Golden 1’s Electronic Fund Transfers disclosure says it does not charge for direct deposits to any type of account, and does not charge for preauthorized payments from any type of account. Its Online External Transfer Service is free incoming and outgoing, and insufficient funds on a returned check or ACH item is listed as free. Wires are the exception, at $25.00 domestic and $40.00 international outgoing as published July 2026, with incoming wires free.

How do I stop a recurring ACH payment from my Golden 1 account?

Tell Golden 1 at least three Business Days before the payment is scheduled — by phone, in writing, or at a branch. A stop payment can cover a single payment or a series for up to thirteen months, and Golden 1 may ask for written confirmation within fourteen calendar days to extend an oral request. Its fee schedule lists stop payment orders, new or renewal, at $25.00 per item as published July 2026. Stopping the payment does not cancel your agreement with the payee.

When will my Golden 1 direct deposit be available?

Golden 1’s stated general policy is to make cash, check and electronic direct deposits available on the same Business Day it receives the deposit, though it reserves the right to delay availability by up to two Business Days. Business Days are Monday to Friday and exclude federal holidays, so a deposit arriving over a weekend is handled on the next weekday the credit union is open.

Who can open a Golden 1 Credit Union account?

Golden 1’s field of membership covers anyone who lives and/or regularly works in California, family members and registered domestic partners of current members, members of a Select Employee Group associated with Golden 1, and businesses, corporations, organizations or other legal entities in California. Membership itself takes a completed application and the purchase of one $1.00 share.
