Pulley alternatives, compared honestly

What Pulley is genuinely good at, where it is worth looking elsewhere, and which products compete for the same job.

In short

What are the alternatives to Pulley?

The realistic alternatives to Pulley are the other cap table platforms in the same market — Carta, Pulley, Ledgy, AngelList, Fidelity Private Shares, Eqvista, Cake Equity, Vestd, Astrella and Qapita — plus Toku for token compensation. Glide Equity, shipped in August 2026, is now also in that set, and is by some distance the least proven option in it.

What Pulley is

Pulley is cap table management aimed squarely at founders, with 409A valuations and round-modelling tools for cap tables full of SAFEs and convertible notes. It built its reputation as the founder-friendly Carta alternative, and it publishes its pricing rather than routing everything through sales.

What Pulley is genuinely good at

  • Round and dilution modelling that founders actually use themselves rather than handing to a finance hire
  • Published pricing, which is rarer in this category than it should be
  • 409A valuations offered alongside the cap table
  • Set-up that does not need an implementation project

Who Pulley is for

  • Early-stage founders who model their own rounds and want to see dilution before signing a term sheet
  • SAFE-heavy pre-priced-round cap tables
  • Teams who want to know the price before booking a call

Choose Pulley over Glide if

  • You want a Carta-class cap table without a Carta-class bill
  • You are pre-Series A and modelling rounds is the daily job
  • You value a published price over a negotiated one

Trade-offs worth checking yourself

These are trade-offs, not defects, and scope in this market changes. Confirm anything that would change your decision directly with Pulley.

  • Smaller ecosystem footprint than Carta, so a few investors and law firms will have workflows built around Carta instead
  • Less breadth at the top end — if you also need fund administration, that is a different vendor
  • Confirm jurisdiction coverage if you are not a US C-corp

What Glide does today

Glide is a stablecoin business account that added a cap table, Glide Equity, in August 2026. It covers the register and the workflow around it; it does not cover valuations, fund administration, national plan types or tokens, and it is the newest product in this comparison by a wide margin.

  • Glide Equity: a cap table of record for shares, options, RSUs, SAFEs and convertible notes, on an exact whole-share ledger
  • Set up from scratch or migrate from Carta by uploading your Carta export files
  • Email invitations, an accept-your-equity flow with e-signature, and holder logins that show a holder their own position only
  • Data rooms, document storage, recorded valuations and rounds, and a full audit trail
  • Stablecoin treasury: hold and move USDC on Solana and EVM chains
  • On-chain multisig vaults — Safe on EVM, Squads on Solana — with M-of-N approvals
  • Multi-rail payouts (ACH, SEPA, FPS, PIX, wire) alongside on-chain settlement
  • Cards, payroll and contractor payments from the same balance
  • Free equity calculators — dilution, vesting, SAFE conversion, waterfall, token unlocks

Frequently asked questions

Is Pulley a good Carta alternative?
It is the closest like-for-like option for a US startup. The usual reasons to prefer it are round modelling that founders drive themselves, a published price, and a lighter setup. The usual reason to stay with Carta is ecosystem familiarity at diligence.
Can I use Glide instead of Pulley?
For the register, yes — Glide Equity ships and imports from a Carta export. For modelling a round before you sign a term sheet, no: that is built into Pulley and Glide only offers free public calculators outside the product. If modelling is why you were looking at Pulley, Pulley is the answer.
Does Pulley do 409A valuations?
Pulley offers 409A valuations alongside the cap table. Confirm turnaround, refresh cadence and audit support directly, since those terms drive the real cost more than the headline plan price.
