Chime routing number
Chime does not have one routing number for every member. It is a financial technology company, and banking services come from The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A. Your assigned bank determines which of the two official routing numbers belongs on an ACH form.

How to find the number assigned to you
Open Chime
Sign in through the Chime app or website.
Choose Move Money
Open the money-movement area in the authenticated account.
Open Direct Deposit
Chime displays the account and routing details used for deposits.
Match the bank
Use 031101279 only for The Bancorp Bank assignment or 103100195 only for Stride Bank assignment.
Copy the account number too
The routing number identifies the bank; the account number identifies your Chime account.
A friend’s Chime routing number can be valid for that friend and still be wrong for you. The authenticated Direct Deposit screen is the deciding source because it shows the bank relationship attached to your individual account.
Why Chime uses partner-bank routing numbers
Chime says it is a financial technology company, not a bank. The Bancorp Bank, N.A. and Stride Bank, N.A. provide its banking services. That is why a Chime member sees the ABA number of an assigned bank rather than a routing number owned by Chime itself.
In an ACH message, the routing number sends the entry toward the assigned bank, while the account number allows that bank’s systems to credit the correct Chime account. The Chime brand is the customer experience, but the bank named in the account disclosure is the regulated deposit institution.
Direct deposit, tax refunds, and ACH transfers
Chime identifies its routing details for direct deposit, tax refunds, transfers between banks, and other ACH payments. These uses share the ACH network, but each originator can request a different account type, account-holder name, or authorization. Follow the form and use the details Chime displays for your account.
- Payroll setup: pair the assigned routing number with the account number from Direct Deposit.
- Tax refund: copy the account type and digits exactly; a mismatch can delay or return the deposit.
- Bank-to-bank transfer: verify whether the other institution is linking through ACH and supports the Chime account.
- Recurring payment: review the authorization and keep enough funds available for the debit.
What FDIC pass-through insurance means here
Chime says deposits are eligible for FDIC insurance up to the legal limit through its partner banks, subject to pass-through insurance requirements. The coverage is associated with the FDIC-insured bank holding the deposit, not with Chime having a bank charter of its own.
Pass-through coverage depends on conditions including proper account records. It should not be summarized as every balance always being insured in every circumstance. The account agreement and the partner shown in the app are the right places to check the current legal arrangement.
