Fed ACH transactions and incoming domestic wires

SoFi’s official help center publishes the same number for Fed ACH transactions and incoming domestic wires. That does not make the two rails identical: an ACH setup asks for account details and authorization, while an inbound wire requires the bank name, beneficiary name, address, and account number.

SoFi says 031101334 can be used for any Fed ACH transaction. Its current help content defines eligible direct deposit as recurring income sent through ACH to SoFi Checking or Savings, including payroll, pension, and government-benefit payments from the responsible payer.

• Direct deposit: provide the routing number, receiving account number, and account type requested by the payer.
• ACH transfer: link the SoFi bank account with 031101334 and the account-specific number.
• Recurring payment: use the details for the checking or savings account being debited.
• Incoming domestic wire: follow SoFi’s complete beneficiary fields rather than treating the ABA number as sufficient by itself.

SoFi makes the routing and account numbers available inside the signed-in account. The public routing number can confirm the bank identifier, but only the authenticated view can supply the private account number that directs money to you.

SoFi states that SoFi Bank, N.A. is nationally chartered by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, is a Federal Reserve member, and is insured by the FDIC. The routing number belongs to that chartered bank rather than to an unrelated sponsor bank.

SoFi identifies SoFi Bank as a Member FDIC institution. It also offers an optional insured-deposit program that can place eligible balances with participating banks for additional coverage. Those participating institutions serve a deposit-sweep function; they should not be described as the routing-number partner for the base SoFi checking or savings account.

Leading zeroes are part of an ABA number, so enter all nine digits in 031101334. A form that drops the first zero or substitutes a number from another SoFi product can fail validation or send the instruction toward the wrong institution.
